Alan founded Open Door Networks in 1995. Open Door is an Apple-focused Internet company, specializing in mobile apps and Internet security software. Under Alan's direction, Open Door shipped the first Macintosh firewall in 1998 and shipped iPhone and iPad apps on the first day possible for each of these groundbreaking devices. Alan is co-author of the books "Internet Security for Your Macintosh and iPhone: A Guide for the Rest of Us" and "Inside AppleTalk,"as well as the creative force behind the top-selling Art Authority app line. He is also president of the Alan and Priscilla Oppenheimer Foundation.
