Using Envision with the iPhone and iPod touch. We now have a special version of Envision, called iEnvision, available for the iPhone and iPod touch. Please check the iEnvision Web site for all the details. Using Envision with other iPods. With Envision Everywhere, cool Web images can move off your Mac and onto other devices. These devices include many of the classic iPods. Depending on the model, the iPod holds up to 25,000 pictures as well as music. And it just so happens that the Web has that many pictures (and more) available. These iPod are not Macs, and don't have Internet access, so you can't run Envision directly on tehm. But you can use Envision to download cool Web images to your Mac, and then use the Mac's synchronization capabilities to download those images to your iPod for display. Not only can you then view them in the palm of your hand, but you can also hook the iPod up to any TV for display, which is great if you're traveling. Envision can download images to any iPod that supports photos, including the nano, classic and touch. And of course the iPhone. Three easy steps. 1. After opening or creating an Envision Web show of interest, select Envision's "Save to Pictures folder" option under the Images item of the File menu. Envision will save a copy of each image displayed to the Envision folder within your Pictures folder. As the show plays, you may want to use Envision's thumbnail mode to get a good overview of what these images are, and to remove any that you don't want to download to your iPod. 2. Connect up your iPod to your Mac and run iTunes, which is used to synchronize your music and photos with the iPod. Under Preferences, choose iPod, then Photos, and then select the Envision folder within your Pictures folder. If you'd like, you can even select specific Envision shows that you want downloaded to your iPod, or you can select all shows. (You only need to do this step once). 3. After the shows are downloaded, hit the "eject" button to disconnect your iPod, and then use the "Photos" option on the iPod to view the shows. Any time you re-connect your iPod to your Mac, iTunes will automatically sync up any new shows' images that you've saved to the Pictures folder. |
