and Scottish Dance Camp Weekend
at Suttle Lake camp near Sisters, June 5-7, 2009
Teachers:
Dave Macemon for English: Dave lives and teaches in the Portland area. His teaching style is clear and inclusive.
Susie Allely for Scottish: Susie has taught Scottish country dance in Sisters Oregon for many years and organizes an annual Scottish ball for the community.

General
Information:
There
are two types of housing offered.
Small heated cabins are available for the regular registration fee.
Rooms in Wesley Hall are offered for an additional $10 per person.
These rooms are much requested - we will honor housing requests
on a first-come, first-served basis. Both types of accommodations
have beds and mattresses. Bring your own bedding.
You can look
forward to a gourmet feast at every meal. Renowned camp
cook Annie Johnston, with her ever-expanding salt and
pepper collection, will cook for us. Well worth the price of camp
alone. Meals will be provided Saturday breakfast through Sunday
lunch. Please bring a potluck dish for Friday dinner.
Childcare
will be provided during workshops and dance parties at no charge
to campers. If childcare is required, please let us know as soon
as possible so adequate arrangements can be made.

The camp fundraiser
will be a silent auction at camp.
Things
to bring: sleeping bag or bed sheets and blankets, potluck
dish for six for Friday night, warm clothes for evening, swimsuit,
towels, flashlight, walking and dancing shoes, camera, silent auction
item(s), extra money for the silent auction fundraiser.
Everyone will
be asked to sign up for two camp chores.
Chores will be meal set-up and clean-up as well as end of camp clean-up.
This event is
fragrance-free - please help us make dance accessible
to all by not wearing scented products! Scent-free hand soap, shampoo
and hair rinse will be provided for all at camp.
Smoking is allowed
in a designated area only. Alcohol and drugs are prohibited. No
pets are allowed at camp.

Information (2008 info):
The weekend will be limited to 70 participants. Registrations are
accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Your registration
form, accompanied by a deposit of half the full registration
amount is due by April 30. $15 of this deposit is non-refundable.
The balance of your registration is due by May 17.
May 17 is also the last day to cancel and still receive a partial
refund. A few weeks before camp we will send a confirmation letter
with a map.

Six work
scholarships are available which will pay for half the
registration fee. Scholarship folks will be involved in meal set-up
and clean-up as well as facilitating end of camp cleaning.

Workshop
on Running Sound for Dances with Chris Sackett
Space is limited to eight people. Pre-registration is required.
Cost is $25. Chris teaches theatre lighting and sound design at
Southern Oregon University and has run sound for dance events. The
workshop will begin on Friday afternoon, setting up sound for the
evening dance and run periodically throughout the weekend with time
to attend other weekend events. Topics will include acoustics and
equalization as means to enhance the quality of sound for dance

Tricky Brits
Band 'Show and Tell'
All are welcome - not just musicians. The Tricky Brits will play,
share how they work together as a band, discuss and demonstrate
the differences and similarities in playing for English country
dance and contra dance, and answer questions from musicians, dancers
and other interested folks.
Family Dance
All ages welcome. All dances will be taught. We'll have English
country, contra and related dances as well as accessible dances
and dance games for the younger ones. Bring your whole family and
enjoy the fun.
