The Rink is just about here!!

It's just about here!! Ashland's ice rink is scheduled for a formal grand opening on Friday, November 29. The opening will coincide with the start of the Festival of Light. Here's the schedule for the whole day:

• 8:30 am - Ice carving contest at the rink
  
• 10:00 am - Official rink opening and dedication ceremony
  
• 4:30 pm - Lights for Life Tree lighting ceremony - library
  
• 5:00 pm - Santa's Parade
  
• 5:30 pm - Grand Illumination - plaza
  
• 5:45 pm - Santa's Arrival - Mark Antony Hotel
  

And, for those of you who can't wait... as of now it is anticipated that the rink will be available for pre-opening skating starting on Saturday, November 23. Check the schedule page for all the details.

If you're interested in purchasing ice skates, check out Global Surplus at 111 E. Main (482-6091). They've got a wide selection available. Rentals will also be available at the rink.
