# Opendoor public API authentication

## Scope

The [public agent resource API](https://www.opendoor.com/openapi.json) and [public calculator APIs](https://www.opendoor.com/api/agent/v1/calculators?format=openapi) are read-only and require no authentication.
Use HTTPS GET requests. HEAD and OPTIONS are also supported. No API key, OAuth flow, account, cookie, or bearer token is required. Do not send credentials or customer session cookies.

## Access boundaries

These APIs do not create offers, originate loans, submit applications, mutate customer records, or expose private customer accounts or transactions. Calculator results are estimates, not commitments or approvals.
Other Opendoor application and service routes are outside this public contract. This document does not grant access to those routes or authorize bypassing authentication, bot protection, or rate limits.

## Inputs and errors

Send only the documented calculator inputs. Do not send names, email addresses, phone numbers, account credentials, or loan documents. For home-value estimates, use an address token obtained from an address suggestion; never invent one or place a raw street address in a page query string.
Read the published OpenAPI contracts for input requirements and response schemas. Errors use application/problem+json with a stable code, message, and resolution. For a 429 response, honor Retry-After. Do not retry by changing identity or bypassing access controls.
