Following the home condition assessment, we’ll provide a cost estimate of the repairs, and you’ll have three options:
- Deduct the repair costs from your net proceeds and skip the work altogether. The majority of our customers choose this option.
- Make the repairs yourself or with a trusted contractor. Once you’ve completed the repairs, we’ll schedule a follow-up assessment to ensure that the work is completed.
- You’re free to walk away from the sale or talk to your Opendoor Home Advisor about alternative selling options. We let you cancel the contract at any point prior to the close of escrow, penalty-free.
We want you to feel happy with your sale, and we’ll only move forward if you say so. You can learn more about common repair items found by inspectors on our repairs page.
Note: For sellers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area—if an estimator discovers significant foundation damage, you’ll need to complete repairs before we purchase the home.
