Look out for gated communities
There are some Opendoor homes that require an agent to enter. These include homes in gated communities and homes which have active renovations in-progress. Don’t worry, we’ll clearly identify any homes not eligible for a self-tour.
Bring a notepad and tape measure. Take any measurements you want and keep helpful notes along the way.
Can I self-tour any Opendoor home?
Yes. Any Opendoor home that is actively listed as For Sale can typically be self-toured. Two exceptions are those in gated communities and those that have renovations in-progress. To tour gated community homes or those with active renovations, please contact us or reach out to your agent.
Do I need to use the Opendoor app to self-tour Opendoor homes?
Yes, the Opendoor app is required to self-tour. In the event you do not have a smart phone, please contact us.

What is the best time to self-tour a home?
Self-tour homes are available to visit any day of the week between 6am - 9pm. Saturdays and Sundays are the busiest days for visits so consider coming during the week if you want a less busy visit.
Can I self-tour non-Opendoor homes?
Currently, Opendoor can offer self-tours by appointment for any home on the market in Dallas-Fort Worth, Phoenix and Raleigh-Durham. For non-Opendoor homes, after scheduling an appointment, a tour agent will let you in the home to kickoff your tour. We are working to extend this experience to additional markets in the near future.
