Opendoor was founded on the idea that the modern real estate transaction should be built around the customer experience. For decades, the traditional model has left countless home sellers and buyers struggling to coordinate their move across multiple third parties, dealing with the uncertainty of a transaction potentially falling through and the inconvenience of listing a home. We believe our investments in our customer experience and the people who support it are paramount to creating the modern day real estate transaction. Today, I’m pleased to announce Shannon Hodges as our new Vice President of Sales & Support.

In this role, Shannon will drive Opendoor’s acquisition and resale growth goals by ensuring buyers and sellers select the moving solution that best meets their needs. This includes: increasing conversion and revenue; designing, building and operationalizing a scalable sales and support organization; evolving sales motion from single product to multi-product and from transactional to consultative; and collaborating with marketing, product, design, and eng to continuously improve the end-to-end customer experience.

Shannon brings to Opendoor deep customer-facing organizational experience and a demonstrated ability to deliver. Prior to joining Opendoor, Shannon led International Care & Services Operations at GoDaddy, where his team exceeded revenue budget and net promoter score targets. During his tenure he increased transaction NPS by 25% and increased bookings by 16%, all while decreasing costs. Before GoDaddy, Shannon led Customer Care Support at SiriusXM, where he built out the organization’s operating metrics, simplified operations, and expanded chat support to achieve customer satisfaction and cost targets.

As we continue to expand our reach to more consumers looking for a simple, certain, fast and trusted way to transact, Shannon and his team will be critical in ensuring our customers have the best possible experience and are able to focus on their next life chapter rather than the complexities of a traditional real estate transaction. I’m thrilled to be able to welcome Shannon to Opendoor and look forward to his contributions to our mission in the years to come.
