Opendoor was the perfect option.
I needed to sell my house in California quickly, in order to show proof of funds for a home I wanted out of state. Opendoor was the perfect option. They gave me a very competitive bid on the house in California and within 30 days we closed, seamlessly and painlessly. I would recommend Opendoor for anyone wanting to sell their house without the hassle on the unknown months of keeping the home pristine clean for the one client who might come by, the months of not knowing if your house is going to sell, the fees associated with the sale and so on. This worked for me, and I recommend it for those of you on retirement who want to relocate who do not have a few hundred grand tucked away for the proof of funds.

Our son recently sold his house through Opendoor and opened our eyes to a new way of selling a house. We are overwhelmed with the ease of the entire process. Everyone from Opendoor was professional in doing their job and completed the entire process in a few short weeks. There was no sign in front of our house, no one walking through our home opening doors and coming through at all hours (maybe for months). The price was fair, the staff was all professional and the time frame allowed us to take advantage of moving to our next house with ease. There were no surprises
Although I have to admit I was a little apprehensive about working with a home buying service I ended up being very pleased! Everyone I dealt with was knowledgeable and professional plus really nice. There were no surprises and Opendoor gave me the best deal out of three home buying services.

We moved to Florida a few years ago but kept our home in Charlotte, NC. We saw the online ads for Opendoor and on a whim completed the questionnaire to request an offer. Opendoor was very responsive, getting back to us in less than a day with a fair offer. We decided not to sell at that time, however. Fast forward to a few months later and we were ready to sell our home. We contacted Opendoor once more and received an offer that was slightly higher than initially quoted, and the service charge % was slightly lower. We had read several reviews, seen the comments on social media, and held our breath after signing the contract. The home condition assessment was scheduled on the day/time of our choosing and the results were sent to us just a few days afterward. We were pleasantly surprised. There was nothing out of the ordinary, no unreasonable requests for repair, and we were given the option having the repairs completed ourselves, or taking a deduction from the offer price and Opendoor handling. We elected to allow Opendoor to handle the few repairs. We were able to set our closing date on a date that met our needs, and since we were out of state we were able to handle closing via mail-away/notary. The process could not have been easier. On the actual closing day, we received the final close documents and the money was wired to our account by mid-afternoon. We highly recommend Opendoor for consideration when selling your home. We will definitely use them again should we decide to sell another property.

I will be honest, I was really skeptical about using Opendoor. But as a single mother doing the necessary repairs and keeping the home spotless for showings was far too stressful. Everything went very smoothly to the point I questioned whether something was going to happen at closing. The closing was exactly what they told me it would be. I would recommend Opendoor to anyone!

I would simply like to say it was an awesome experience working with Opendoor. No hassles of showings or fixed closing date. All the agents we worked with were very nice and professional. Since we were buying a new home our closing got delayed by months. We wanted the funds from selling our home towards our new purchase and the coordination was very easy. Opendoor was very very flexible in moving the closing date without any hassles. They suggested minimal repairs. Although the offer price was a little less than market but it was worth it for that kind of experience in selling the home. The home was sold on the closing date we decided and funds were transferred immediately on the same day. Overall we would definitely recommend Opendoor if someone is looking to sell their home without any hassle.

Our experience with Opendoor was very positive
The process is straightforward, and completing documents online is great. But the biggest thing for us was avoiding the hassle of showing the house to prospective buyers. We have two large dogs, so showing the house would have been a difficult challenge.

Opendoor is truly pioneering the way real estate is handled
This has to have been the most unexpected outcome in our real estate history. We heard about Opendoor and thought it was just another realtor trying to list our house. We were surprised to find out that the company business model is amazing. I work from home and we have a dog so in the past, it would be so inconvenient having to leave the house for showings and use my lunch break up for people who would end up as no-shows. Opendoor solved this issue for us while offering us a very good offer for our house. From the moment we asked Jeremy Garriott from opendoor to call us on a Sunday because we had so many questions about the process and he promptly called and spent over an hour with us grilling him question after question. We needed to wait to find a new house before fully committing to the offer and renewed our offer several times. We finally found our dream home and went full speed ahead with the sale of the house. The inspection process all the way up to the closing was handled so professionally. My wife and I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop and something to go wrong but it never happened. We closed right after Thanksgiving and rented our house back for a few days until we closed and were able to move into our new home. I have to admit that I was skeptical when I first got started. I figured that Opendoor was going to give a low offer and was pleasantly surprised when I received a current market offer and then their low fees listed immediately. All was very transparent and no last minute “oops” and the whole process went very fast. Actually, everything was happening way faster than I expected, though there was always the option to adjust closing dates.

Everyone from my contact at the company to the various people that came to inspect the house made the process very easy and extremely stressless. Opendoor was very flexible in allowing me to change the closing date a couple of different times and there were no surprises. The closing itself was very easy and quick. I liked the fact that I know what I was going to be receiving and that I didn’t have to jump through all the usual hoops with having the home listed with a real estate agent (i.e open houses, last minute or drop-in showing, etc.). I tried to sell the home myself and it was nice to know that I had a guaranteed offer sitting there that I could fall back on if I wasn’t able to sell it myself. I would recommend Opendoor to anyone who is looking to sell their home.
Works exactly as advertised
Emma and the rest of the Opendoor team were honest, transparent and accommodating thru the whole process. Opendoor works as advertised; you save on all the hassle of listing, showing, closing, etc. However, you do end up paying a little extra for their market risk charge.
A very streamlined process
Opendoor offered more than what my realtor wanted to list the home for. I didn’t have to wait around for the home to sell while still having to pay my mortgage and HOA dues. No appraisal was needed and the inspection process and outcome was very satisfying. I would recommend Opendoor time and time again.
Great communication through the entire process
The longer story involves a less-than-ideal situation that I would rather not share on your website (involves an ongoing divorce process between myself and the other owner of the house) but I just want to say that Opendoor was the perfect solution for me. If I could, I would give Opendoor 6 out of 5 stars! If you don’t want to have to deal with staging, real estate agents, open houses and cleaning/repairs, Opendoor is definitely the way to go. Once we contacted them, they took over and took care of everything and we mean everything. We packed the house up and signed the paperwork and the funds were in our bank account the next day. Plus the nicest, friendliest, and most honest people to work with.

Simple and pain free
Even after I dropped the ball (and kicked it across the street), they were here for me and willing to do whatever it took to get my sale back on track and even close in the original time frame! Super helpful and easy to work with.
For starters Opendoor gave me a very fair price. The inspection process was very quick and it only took one day. I didn’t agree with the repair list on my roof but then again I’m not a roofer. After the inspection, Guy and I exchanged countless emails and phone conversations over questions I had. He was very kind and made sure I was taken care of. After we agreed to move forward, it was a matter of a couple days and I was signing papers with the title company. This was awesome. All in all, this company did what they said they were going to do. If you live a life where time is precious and don’t want to deal with your house being on the market for months and countless strangers walking in your house for showings, this in my opinion is the best way to do it. Thank you Opendoor.

The market risk fee seems arbitrary but overall the experience was very good
The premise is unique in that I received a fair market value offer for my house & I didn’t have to show it except to the inspectors. There were 5 inspectors that walked through in one day but my house was in great condition so they only wanted $716 for repairs. Overall the process was pretty simple but almost all communication is via email, even with the title company for closing. Again a unique premise but the lack of human interaction is a bit unnerving. Emails were not always returned as promptly as I would have liked but I understand sometimes reps are out in the field. I did make the fatal error of not accepting their first offer, because we had not found a replacement home yet. My offer had expired so when I tried again they offered a few thousand dollars less than their initial offer. I took a gamble that we would find something in the timeframe but we didn’t. I understand the business aspect of it but had I to do it over again I would wait until I found the right house then contact Open Door.
Fair price, fast service, pain-free compared to conventional sale process
The house had been occupied by several different family members after I downsized for my retirement. When it was finally vacated, I needed to sell, since I still had a substantial mortgage on it. After inspecting the condition, and going though the numbers for preparing it for sale, and the time it would take including using the normal real estate channels, I decided that it was worth trying Opendoor. They thoroughly inspected the house, and actually found things that I did nor realize needed to be taken care of. They provided an initial offer that was on the lower end of what the market was, then factored in “risk, etc.”, and the cost for repairs. These repair costs was lower than what I would be able to do the work for, either myself, or through contractors. I was looking at anywhere from 6 months, or more, for the repair and sale process, and the associated carrying charges (mortgage, utilities) if I went conventional. Could I have gotten more if I did all the repairs, and sold conventionally? Maybe, but I saved the stress of the entire process. At my age (67), it was well worth the money. The entire process with Opendoor took approximately one month.
Easy, efficient, and convenient
My husband and I both work full-time jobs, and our lives right now didn’t really have time for the traditional house selling experience. Opendoor made it easy and convenient without all of the hassle of keeping our home show ready, etc.
