SALES & PARTNERSHIP
Sales Support Specialist
Location
In-office roles require all responsibilities to be performed in the office. Candidates must be based within a 50-mile commuting distance of the Phoenix, AZ office. Opendoor is a default, in-person company and values having employees working in-office to foster a collaborative work environment and company culture. This could also include working flex weekends.
About the Role
Are you energized by solving complex operational problems and leveraging cutting-edge AI tools to transform how work gets done? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments where your attention to detail and proactive communication make a measurable difference for customers? If so, the Sales Support Specialist role at Opendoor offers a unique opportunity to own the critical closing experience for both sellers and buyers.
This role sits at the intersection of operations and innovation. You will own all non-sales, customer-facing tasks that bridge the gap between contract execution and closing—for both acquisitions and resale. You will ensure seamless handoffs after contracts are signed, proactively coordinating between Title and customers to keep closings efficient and on track. You will be the person who unblocks issues before they become problems, responds rapidly to Title and customer requests, and delivers an exceptional closing experience. You will also be expected to identify, build, and deploy AI-powered automation workflows (managing AI agents that you also build) to continuously reduce manual effort and elevate service quality across the team.
What You’ll Need
- At least 2–3 years of experience in a customer-facing operations, title, escrow, real estate, or similar transaction-management role.
- Demonstrated experience building or working with AI automation tools (e.g., Claude/Gemini/ChatGPT, Claude Code, Gumloop, or similar AI/automation tools).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills—you can translate complex title issues into clear, calm messaging for customers and internal teams.
- Technical proficiency with CRM systems, workflow tools, and data tracking software, with an emphasis on quick adaptation and real-time responsiveness.
- Proven ability to manage a high-volume pipeline of transactions (200+ concurrent transactions) simultaneously without dropping balls.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
Who You Are
- AI-forward and automation-obsessed. You don’t just use AI tools—you build with them. You actively look for opportunities to automate repetitive tasks, and you get excited when a workflow you designed saves the team hours every week.
- Proactive and unblocking. You anticipate friction before it happens. Whether it’s a Title issue, a missing document, or a confused customer, you move fast to resolve it before it delays a close.
- Deeply organized and detail-oriented. Managing multiple transactions, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously is second nature to you. Your precision ensures nothing slips through the cracks.
- A clear, empathetic communicator. You can translate complex title and escrow concepts into plain language that customers understand and trust.
- Adaptable and coachable. You embrace feedback, iterate on your workflows, and stay ahead of process changes in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
- Team-oriented and dependable. You collaborate closely with Acquisition, Title, and Resale teams, and you’re someone your colleagues can rely on.
What You’ll Do
- Own Closing Operations: Serve as the primary customer-facing point of contact to facilitate a seamless closing for both acquisition and resale transactions—proactively coordinating with Title and customers, resolving blockers, and ensuring every transaction closes on time.
- Build and deploy AI automation workflows: Identify manual, repetitive tasks across the closing journey and build AI-powered automations to eliminate them. This is a core responsibility to develop automated workflows, not a side project.
- Coordinate across Title and internal teams: Act as the connective tissue between customers, Title companies, and internal Opendoor teams—escalating issues quickly and keeping all parties aligned.
- Support resale transactions: Provide the same high-touch, operationally excellent support for buyer-side transactions, ensuring a consistent experience from purchase to close.
- Respond rapidly to requests: Be highly responsive to Title and customer inquiries, with a bias toward same-day resolution.
- Continuously improve workflows: Regularly audit existing processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement automation or process improvements to raise the bar on team performance.
- Maintain accurate records: Keep CRM and transaction management systems updated in real time so the broader team always has visibility into deal status.
AI Automation & Workflow Innovation
This role is uniquely positioned to shape how Opendoor’s Sales Support function operates at scale. You will be expected to go beyond executing existing processes—you will be a builder. Specifically:
- Use AI tools and automation platforms (such as Claude / Gemini / ChatGPT, Claude Code, or Gumloop) to design and deploy workflow automations that reduce manual effort in closing operations.
- Integrate data from Opendoor’s internal systems (CRM, Snowflake, Title platforms) into automated pipelines that surface real-time insights and trigger proactive actions.
- Collaborate with the broader operations and technology teams to scale automation solutions across the Acquisition and Resale functions.
- Document and share automation wins with the team to build a culture of continuous process improvement.
If you’ve ever looked at a repetitive manual process and thought “there has to be a better way”—and then actually built that better way—this role is for you.
Bonus
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Prior experience with Opendoor, iBuyer, or high-volume real estate transaction operations.
- Familiarity with tools like Gumloop, Slack automations, Snowflake, or similar data/workflow platforms.
