Opendoor is a technology company reinventing how people buy and sell homes – but moving is a real world experience. Combining technology with operational excellence is how we currently and will continue to deliver a world-class experience and transform the category.

As an example, in 2019 alone, we infused over $130 million into small businesses by working with local contractors around the country. In preparing our homes for resale that same year, we used enough paint to cover the Golden Gate Bridge 30 times and enough carpet to stretch across the state of Texas. Most importantly, there are countless stories of Opendoor team members moving mountains to provide our customers with the best experience possible. For many of our customers, Opendoor is as much technology as it is our operations and teammates.

That is why I’m energized to announce that Andrew Low Ah Kee will be joining Opendoor as President.

Andrew joins us from GoDaddy, where he most recently served as Chief Operating Officer, driving day-to-day business performance and customer experience for the company’s 20M+ customers around the world. In this role, he led a global team of over 7,500 teammates and was instrumental in nearly quadrupling the company’s sales. He previously served in a variety of roles that touched every aspect of GoDaddy’s business, from organic and inorganic growth strategies to market expansion to taking the company public. Before GoDaddy, Andrew held roles at KKR Capstone and Boston Consulting Group. He earned a BASc degree in engineering science from University of Toronto and a MBA from Harvard Business School. Andrew will be critical to driving operational excellence across our business, especially as we expand into new markets and deepen our product offerings.

Julie Todaro, our current President of Homes and Services, will be transitioning from the company to retire early. Julie’s influence on Opendoor spans beyond her most recent role. Before formally joining us, she served as a strategic advisor to the company and contributed immensely to Opendoor’s customer and overall mission. Julie has built an operations organization that is poised to execute in our next chapter as a public company. We thank her for her contributions and wish her our best.

Creating a delightful and seamless customer experience begins with the right team. I’m grateful to everyone who joins us on this mission to empower everyone with the freedom to move.

Eric Wu is CEO and co-founder of Opendoor.
