Introducing our first Chief Customer Officer

The traditional real estate transaction has left countless consumers with stress and uncertainty in what should otherwise be a time of joy. Opendoor was founded to improve this customer experience. Every day, we work to leverage the power of our technology and scale to turn the process of moving into one of life’s delightful moments. Today, I’m excited to share the announcement of Megan Meyer Toolson as our first Chief Customer Officer.
Megan has been at the forefront of our customer experience since the earliest days of Opendoor. She joined the company in 2015 as our 19th employee. An alumna of Stanford Graduate School of Business, Megan’s first role at Opendoor was as a renovations project manager. She brought a no-task-too-small mentality to the business, telling Opendoor CEO and co-founder Eric Wu to put her where she was needed and she’d get it done. She did just that. In just a few short years, Megan has assumed a myriad of responsibilities across varied parts of the business, from technology and pricing operations to product, sales and in-market operations.
In her most recent role as Head of Operations, she oversaw the day-to-day activities required to efficiently buy and sell thousands of homes per month. Megan has been instrumental in helping us scale from one market to over 20, hiring and leading general managers in each area to grow our local footprint. She has also been responsible for renovation operations, expanding a network of over 1,000 in-market vendors that provide a variety of home services for Opendoor-owned homes.
In her new role as Chief Customer Officer, Megan will continue to live and breathe our promise to customers. She is now responsible for all go-to-market efforts, including marketing, sales and support, in-market operations and expansion. This new executive position reinforces our focus on customers and ensures we’re strategically positioned to execute on our growth plans.
I’m thrilled for Megan on this much deserved promotion, and I’m excited for her next chapter at Opendoor. Her ongoing efforts here will prove to be instrumental to delivering the best experience to our customers and building the future of real estate.
